Who we are

Game finder (gamefinderapp.dev and its Android app) is operated by Bailey Jake Winstanley, an individual based in the United Kingdom. Bailey Jake Winstanley is the data controller for personal data processed through Game finder, meaning he decides how and why it is used. Contact: privacy@gamefinderapp.dev.

What we collect

  • Account details — email address and sign-in information (email/password or Google).
  • Search text — what you type into a search, and search history if you are signed in.
  • Bookmarks and display settings — saved games and your hide images/links/shops choices.
  • Usage counts and device identifier — number of searches, to apply free and premium limits. Signed-out users are counted with an anonymous identifier.
  • Feedback — messages you send us from the account page.
  • Subscription records — plan, status and renewal date. Card details are handled by Paddle and never reach us.

Signed-out bookmarks and settings stay in your browser only. We use browser storage only for essential functions (staying signed in, saved settings) — no analytics or advertising cookies.

How we use it, and our legal basis

  • Providing the service (accounts, searches, bookmarks, settings, subscriptions) — performance of our contract with you.
  • Enforcing search limits, security and fraud prevention — our legitimate interests.
  • Replying to feedback and support — our legitimate interests.
  • Keeping tax and transaction records — legal obligation.

We do not sell your data and do not show ads.

Who we share it with

  • AI provider — your search text is sent to an AI model to produce results. It is not linked to your name or email.
  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for the sale of Premium, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Hosting and database providers — to store and serve the app.
  • Professional advisers — such as accountants or lawyers, where needed.
  • Authorities — where required by law.
  • Game stores and shops — only if you tap a link to them. Some shop links are affiliate links that may earn us a commission.

Some providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention and security

We keep your data while your account exists and delete or anonymise it when no longer needed, or within 30 days of an account deletion request (transaction records may be kept longer where the law requires). Data is encrypted in transit, and access controls ensure each user can only read their own saved data.

Your rights and deletion

You can delete bookmarks and history in the app at any time. Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or export your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email privacy@gamefinderapp.dev. We respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

Children

Game finder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
